SERVICES

My Approach

Thoughtful research. Practical evaluation. Meaningful learning.

I partner with organizations that want research and evaluation to do more than document activity. My work is designed to help teams navigate complexity, gain clarity, and move forward with intention- much like charting a course through changing waters.

My approach is grounded in listening, partnership, and use. I work closely with project teams to understand their goals, contexts, and constraints, and I design research and evaluation efforts that reflect those realities. Rather than applying one-size-fits-all models, I collaborate with partners to co-create studies and evaluation plans that are feasible, meaningful, and actionable.

I view research and evaluation as tools for learning and growth- not compliance, and I prioritize processes that build trust, understanding, and thoughtful decision-making.

My Services and Expertise

I provide support across the full lifecycle of research and evaluation, bringing methodological rigor alongside collaborative, learning-focused practice. My role is to help organizations see where they are, understand what’s shaping their work, and identify meaningful paths forward.

Research &

Evaluation Studies

I design and conduct applied research and evaluation studies that examine program implementation, experiences, and outcomes. These studies help organizations understand what’s working, where challenges exist, and how programs can be strengthened over time. This work often includes:

  • Formative, summative, and developmental evaluations

  • Logic model/theory of change creation

  • Mixed-method designs, Quasi-Experimental Designs (QEDs), Randomized Control Designs (RCTs)

  • Surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, and document review

Since 2008, I have conducted:

  • 60 research and evaluation studies

  • 15 studies funded by the National Science Foundation or US Department of Education

  • 14 studies funded by nonprofits and foundations

Through these studies, I have partnered with:

  • 60 pre-k schools

  • 90 postsecondary institutions

Program Design &

Co-Design

I support organizations in developing and refining programs through research-informed and collaborative design processes, including:

  • Co-developing logic models and theories of change

  • Aligning program activities with intended outcomes

  • Building evaluation and measurement plans alongside program design

  • Supporting iterative learning and adaptation

My goal is to ensure programs are designed with clarity, intention, and a strong foundation for learning and evaluation. I have worked to design or co-design more than 30 programs.

Professional Development

& Capacity Building

In addition to project-based work, I offer professional development to support organizations in strengthening their research and evaluation capacity, including:

  • Training on research and evaluation methods

  • Support for interpreting and using data

  • Workshops that build confidence with evaluation tools and findings

  • Ongoing coaching and consultation

These services are designed to meet organizations where they are and support sustained learning over time.
